Welcome back to your regularly scheduled RPM polls! This time, I asked you to weigh in about the Assets tab on the Clients screen, which we think could use a rework.
Let’s jump right into the poll results. First, I asked each of you whether you use the Assets tab at all. Only a small portion of you (16%) indicated that you use it regularly; most of the results were split between the “some” and “none” responses (both at 42%). Here’s that information in graph format:
Of those who indicated they do not use the Assets tab, I asked an additional question: Why not? The most common answer was that they don’t track client assets at all, followed closely by those whose clients just don’t have assets to track. Only a very small percentage (6%) cite inadequacy of RPM‘s Assets tab as the major reason for not using it.
*Please note that this graph reflects only the responses of the subset of respondents who indicated they do not use the Assets tab.
For the final multiple-choice question, I asked you to rate your level of satisfaction with the current Assets tab. A full two-thirds (66%) of respondents were neutral or not sure how they felt about it, with the second most common answer (16%) being “somewhat satisfied.” Check out the full breakdown:
Our goal is for those of you who have reason to use the Assets in RPM to be fully satisfied with it, of course, so our plan is to revamp it for the next version upgrade.
Here are just a few of the additional pieces of feedback we received:
- The most common comment by far was about the current format of the Assets tab, which requires selecting specific asset types and prevents seeing a list of all assets for a client at once.
- Several different respondents mentioned adding a history or a way to archive prior assets rather than deleting the records entirely.
- A field for account numbers was requested more than once.
- Adding a Notes button to expand the asset description field was also brought up.
- Last but not least, someone suggested a way to mark certain assets as excludable from the asset total that appears on the Basic tab for each client.
We greatly appreciate each and every response as we work to make RPM as useful as possible! Stay tuned for more polls in the coming weeks.
