RPM upgrade – Reinstall Client

See all the changes in the latest upgrade.

Note: Before following these steps, make sure you have downloaded and installed the server upgrade to version 6.0.7.

Do I need to upgrade the RPM Client for 6.0.7?

Do either of the two cases below apply to you?

  1. You are currently running RPM version 5.x.x.
  2. You are currently running RPM version 6.x.x, and the workstation displays Access version 15 on the System Info screen.

If so, you will need to follow the steps below to upgrade the RPM Client from Access 2013 to Access 365.

Which workstations require a Client upgrade?

The RPM Client only needs to be upgraded on workstations that are not currently using Access version 16.

  • If you are upgrading from RPM version 5.x.x, all RPM Client workstations must be upgraded.
  • If you are upgrading from RPM version 6.0.0–6.0.5 to 6.0.7, only workstations that display Access version 15 on the System Info screen must be upgraded.

How do I upgrade the RPM Client?

To upgrade the RPM Client, follow these steps:

Run the RPMClientSetup application in the “Client Install” folder under the “RPM Server” folder. The “RPM Server” folder location is the network path from your System Info report. For a single computer installation, this will usually be C:\RPM Server\Client Install\RPMClientSetup.exe. For a network installation, this will be a server location (for example, \\server\RPM Server\Client Install\RPMClientSetup.exe).

Right-click on the RPMClientSetup application and select “Run as administrator” to run the installation. The prerequisite Access 365 runtime will be installed first.

Click Install to install the 64-bit Access runtime.

If 32-bit Office is currently installed on the workstation, the 64-bit version cannot be installed. Click Install 32-bit instead.

Click Close when complete. The RPM Client Setup screen will then be displayed.

Click Next and follow the remaining prompts to complete installing the RPM Client. Click Finish when the installation is complete.

Restart the workstation before opening RPM.
