Open CSV files with Notepad

Notepad is a program built into Windows. It is the preferred way to open CSV files. To open a CSV file with Notepad, right-click on the file, select “Open with,” then select the “Notepad” option.

Tip: You should not double-click to open a CSV file. Double-clicking will often cause the file to open in Microsoft Excel, where the format of the fields might be changed.
