October might be the spooookiest month, but your participation in our polls makes everything sweeter!
Last week, I asked whether you would print clients’ account names on your checks if this was added as an option in RPM. Without further ado, here are the results from those answers:
*Please note that this graph reflects only the responses of the subset of respondents who indicated they print checks from RPM.
As you can see, the answers were varied. Of 39 respondents who print checks, 15 respondents indicated they were either likely or very likely to use account names on their checks, while 12 indicated they were unlikely or very unlikely to do so. The remaining 12 were unsure or neutral.
In the poll, I also asked which account type(s) your clients used; I was curious whether this would impact your likelihood of printing the account name on checks. First, here’s the spread of account types respondents have:
Slightly more of you use individual accounts, but overall, the proportions are fairly even. When I looked at whether the account type corresponds to the likelihood of printing account names, I found that those who have both account types were far more likely to be neutral about printing account names; otherwise, there was no significant correlation between these categories.
To address a few other points raised in the poll comments:
- If this were added to the check layout in RPM, it would be optional! You would be free to turn it on if you wanted; otherwise, nothing would change with the way you currently have your checks set up.
- Several of you noted that you already print the clients’ names and account names in the “Memo” field on your checks. This is a great workaround! The addition of a separate “Account Name” field would allow you to use the “Memo” line for other information, if needed.
Thanks for your feedback, everyone! Have a spook-tacular weekend, and keep an eyeball out for next week’s poll!
