Planned upgrade changes: Reports, repositioned!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: We love reports! We’re always thinking about ways to make it easier for you to pull the information you want out of RPM quickly and concisely.

This new upgrade to 6.0.8, which is rolling out over the next few days(!!!), contains several changes to reports in RPM.

To go along with the new Budget tab for your clients, we’ll be making a few notable changes to the reports that have to do with projected balances. Here are the major ones:

  • The Client Budget Detail report will be renamed Actual and Projected Detail. The contents of the report will remain the same. This name change makes clear that the report shows actual transactions and scheduled transaction projections; it does not show client budgets from the Budget tab.
  • Similarly, the Client Budget Projected Balance report will be renamed Projected Balance Detail. The report will still contain the same information about projected transactions based on the scheduled payments and deposits for a client.
  • We’re adding new reports to compare client budgets (from the Budget tab) to both actual and scheduled transactions. These reports will be found in the “Transactions By Client” section of reports.

The image above shows one of the newly added reports that compares actual and projected transactions to a client’s budget. The report highlights areas where the client is over budget.

In addition to these, we’ll also be making a few more additions and adjustments to reports. Here’s a summary of all the new, repositioned, and revamped reports by section:

Client

  • Expected Income will be renamed Budget Amounts – Income.
  • Added:
    • Budget Amounts – Expenses

Balances

  • Budget Balances will be renamed Projected Balances.
  • Balances…By Client – we’ve added the option to run all “By Client” balance reports for only the clients’ default account balances.
  • Balances With Actual Deposits – phone numbers have been added to query results so that they include all relevant information for Social Security audits. See the relevant Community post for more details.
  • We’re adding an option to run balance reports with only one column, as requested in our poll.
  • We’re also altering all balance reports to alphabetize down the column instead of across the page.

Transactions By Client

  • Client Statement report variations will be relocated to the top of the list.
  • Client Budget Detail will be renamed Actual and Projected Detail.
  • Client Budget Projected Balance will be renamed Projected Balance Detail.
  • Added:
    • Budget
    • Actual Vs. Budget Totals
    • Actual and Projected Vs. Budget Totals

Transactions

  • Scheduled Payments – both the report and query can now be filtered by Verification status.

Assets

  • Assets with Checking – these reports now show separate totals for each of the client’s accounts instead of only a lump “Checking” sum.

Security

  • Added:
    • User Rights to Mass Accounts

Custom

  • Added:
    • Budget Amounts List – Expenses
    • Budget Amounts List – Income

Misc.

  • We’re adding the option to hide category subtotals for all reports that include a category subtotals section.

This image shows the current Transactions By Client report section on the left, along with the new version that will appear in 6.0.8 on the right. The Client Statement and variations will be moved to the top of the list, two “budget” reports will be renamed, and several real budget reports will be added.

This is the last upgrade change to reveal! We’re so proud of the work that’s gone into version 6.0.8, and we can’t wait for you to see it very soon.
